Navigating the in’s and out’s of caring for a loved one with special needs can be stressful and overwhelming-especially when choosing and using medical equipment for mobility, transfers, and daily care. There are so many options and some durable medical equipment parts require adjustments to fit the patient or the environment.

Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or daily living products do not have to be stressful/frustrating for you or your loved one anymore!

As a home-based Physical Therapist, I educate caregivers on how to prevent falls in the home and make mobility (walking), transfers (moving from one surface to another, standing/lifting), and daily care easier using DME.

When you know and understand: 1) how to adjust the equipment, 2) safely use medical equipment, and 3) the tricks for successfully setting up the environment, your loved one and yourself, you will be amazed how easy mobility, transfers, and daily care can be completed with very little effort/expertise.

I will post videos, pictures and blogs focused on products commonly used for home care of anyone with disabilities and special needs. There is an ever growing and changing supply of DME; therefore, if you do not find a review, video, or blog on a specific DME, please contact me and I will be honored to post and answer any questions about DME used for mobility, transfers and daily care in the home.

Thank you for visiting my site and please come back soon!

Until next time,
